As you  may have noticed, I redesigned the blog since it was a new year (and it’s good to shake things up once in a while)… I still need to add a few things, but for the most part – I’m pretty satisfied… I like the challenge of installing a new theme and then tearing it apart so I can customize it…

What’s new and exciting? My family had it’s belated Christmas gathering this past Sunday – Deck was the star of the show (duh) and was itching to open ALL the presents instead of just the ones Santa brought… He could’ve cared less about the videos, books, or clothes, and enjoyed his new bulldozer from Uncle Craig… I don’t think I overdid it in the food dept, though I commented that there was nothing green on the table (besides my mom’s cornflake wreath)… Fun was had by all and I’ll post a pic as soon as I get one from my niece, since she had the better camera…

I also started back on WW last week and was happy to see a loss on the scale yesterday… I exercised 6/7 days and have been making better choices in the food dept, though I need to stop snacking in the evenings… I will start back with weight-training today and am not looking forward to being sore… According to DietBet, I have 5.1 more pounds to lose by January 30…

Eric’s parents stayed with us on Tuesday night since they were flying out of BWI (very) early Wednesday morning… Not sure why they picked an 8:30 a.m. flight because that meant they had to be up by 4:30 and out the door by 5:30! Gah! During their short visit, we had a nice dinner and at least they were able to spend some time with Deck before heading to bed… Once Deck heard that they were taking a plane to Florida, that’s all he’s been saying around the house… “Grandpa take plane to Florida?” I think he’s really going to enjoy the auto train this year…

Happy Thursday…

Fun with a stool…

Me and my baby boy…

Happy Friday, everyone! I’m so glad that the week is over and so far – today has good pretty well, minus the fact our website is broken and IT doesn’t know how long it will take to fix… They are a bunch of morons and constantly blame us for things not working when in fact, it’s them and they never admit to being wrong… Anyway, I just had a healthy lunch and have every intention of going to the gym today…

Since starting back on WW – I found that they now have this handy app that automatically calculates the points of the item when you scan the UPC code (if it’s in their system)… What a handy tool to have for the grocery store! So far, I’m pretty happy with it, but wish they would keep it updated and include things from Trader Joe’s (Mike’s Hard Lemonade was also missing)… Anything that makes keeping track of what I’m eating, easier, is a good thing!

Today’s question: If you could change one thing about your life right now, what would it be?

That I would put myself first, every day, regardless of what’s going on in my life (work, home, etc.)… Starting back on WW is the first step of many…

Happy Friday…

Taking after his mama…

Though I was pretty off-plan this past weekend (girls night, etc.), I knew I would have a loss of some sorts (because of the gain last week) and was happy to see 2 pounds gone… I am now below my highest pregnancy weight which was my first goal and pretty damn exciting… I also had another clothing-related NSV and wore a pair of capris that were too small when I unpacked them for summer… So I am 2:2 this week and hope to keep going in the right direction… On that note – I’m already expecting a not-so-perfect weekend since our guests from France arrive on Friday, but will consciously make an effort to do the best that I can…

Work in and around the house has been fast and furious in preparation for our guests… We tackled some yard work on Sunday and the bedroom carpets on Monday – no holiday R&R for us unfortunately… My mom was kind enough to watch Deck for a few hours, so we could move furniture and clean, and wore her out playing in the pool and walking around the yard… He’s a busy, busy, busy boy these days, but getting so curious and observant about everything which is awesome! Every night this week we have some smaller projects to finish, but all in all – we’ll be ready… The weather isn’t looking great for Saturday, but perhaps Sunday will be nice and we can spend the day in Annapolis…

Work has been extremely quiet and I’m not going to complain… I know there’s a big project in my future, but haven’t seen my boss in a few days and have no idea what’s on the horizon… One good thing – the president is taking all the people who worked on the annual meeting to lunch tomorrow, which is a nice gesture (though I’d still prefer an extra day-off or bonus)…

Hope you’re having a great week and Happy Hump Day!

Not surprised to see a slight gain this week (tom), but I wore a pair of pants on Tuesday and they were more baggy than the previous time I wore them… Whoo Hooo!

Deck hasn’t been feeling well lately – daycare called on Tuesday and said he had a fever, so we picked him up, and headed to the doctor… She said it wasn’t hand, foot, and mouth, which is going around, but probably another virus causing the slight rash and fever… I stayed home with him yesterday and for the most part, he was miserable, but perked-up in the afternoon, had more of an appetite, and was drinking lots of fluids… Since we were stuck inside for most of the day, I took advantage of his improved mood and went for a walk before a big storm hit the area… Eric took advantage of not having to pick him up and worked late, but that just made my long day even longer… I love the little guy, but when he’s unhappy – it’s a rough time… All seems to be better today and so far, no calls from daycare… Yay!

I was off last Thursday and Friday and made use of my time – dentist appt, foot doctor appt, and painted the downstairs bedroom… My teeth are perfect (though I never floss, shhh!), my left foot has been hurting so I requested a sonogram to see if it’s neuroma, and the bedroom came out great! We just need to clean the carpet, setup the bed, move a wardrobe from the bedroom upstairs, and hang some pictures… Nothing like waiting to the last minute – this 3-day weekend will be no slouching for us!

This past weekend, we headed to Pittsburgh for a quick visit (and to pick-up some grass-fed beef)… The weather was gorgeous, we had quality time with the grandparents, got to see some siblings, hung-out with the cows and some new buppies, and met the new chickens that Eric’s brother is raising for eggs and meat… Deck also took his first tumble down some stairs and somehow managed to fall-off a step outside and land in a flowerbed… He barely cries anymore, but wimpers a bit and then carries on… This kid feels no pain! We were back by Sunday afternoon, so Eric could tackle the lawn, and then the weekend was over…

Our new LR window was supposed to be installed on Monday, but for whatever reason – they called and said it wasn’t going to be ready, and instead of scrambling to get it done before our guests come, we opted for June 16… Amazingly, it’s a Saturday, but the downfall is that I’ll have to take Deck out for a while so he’s not around all the noise and dust… So much for having everything done… I did manage to get some curtains hung, but messed up one of the trim around a window and need Eric’s handiwork to make it work properly…  The house is definitely looking more homey, which is what I love…

Work has been pretty quiet now that the annual meeting is over… I finished my last event-related project this morning and now I’m done for the next 2 years (designers rotate projects)! Overall, I’m happy with how things went, though I was never a fan of the logo (but it’s what the president chose)… Can’t win them all I suppose… Onto the next thing…

Hope you have a great, holiday weekend! Happy Thursday!

My little farmer…

Popsicles just make everything better…

It’s been a hell of a week, but more importantly – the scale told me that I lost 3.6 pounds, making my grand total 8.8 pounds… That doesn’t seem like a lot, especially after my big gain last week, but since starting WW – I’m averaging around 2 pounds a week… Not too shabby, if I do say so myself! I’ve added the elliptical into my workout mix, and will soon add weights again which I think will really help things move along… Onwards and upwards, my friends…

The annual meeting went really well, at least according to our president, and I was told that the overall design (stage, signs, program, etc) received a lot of positive comments… I was able to see one of my big designs on the large screen in the ballroom, which was pretty cool… Since I had to hold down the fort, I didn’t get to see as many things as I would’ve liked too, but did make a point to see the session with George Lucas… He’s quite short and most people didn’t recognize him as he walked through the hallway (he’s dating the Chair of the conference planning committee)… I skipped the big dinner since we didn’t have a babysitter and was happy to see things finally come to a close after working on it since September! There are a few random things that still need to be done, but nothing compared to my workload from before… Yay!

Mother’s Day was nice – I made a point to get all the usual weekend chores done on Saturday so I could relax… Mom came down and we had lunch at our favorite Mexican place – Deck has found a new love, fried ice cream… Eric changed the oil on my mom’s car and we spent a lot of time outside, looking at the garden and going for a walk with the little guy…

I’m off tomorrow and Thursday – have a dentist appt, a foot doctor appt, and my big plan is to paint the basement bedroom… I worked on some of it tonight, but will try to get a coat on tomorrow and then finish up on Friday… Eric has been at a conference this week so I’ve been on my own since Monday night (he gets back late tomorrow night)… I think I’ve done pretty good, though I appreciate having Eric around especially when it comes time to make dinner and give the guy a bath…

We are headed to Pittsburgh this weekend, though I wish we were staying here to get more stuff done around the house… After this, there are only 2 weeks until our French guests arrive! Yikes! The new LR window is getting installed Monday so there’s a lot of prep work that we’ll have to do beforehand…

Well, I better go, but will check-in with some progress pics (hopefully)…

Happy Hump Day…
