I’m sure most of you are aware of the bad storm that passed thru parts of the eastern coast on Friday night – we have been without power going on 3 days… It wouldn’t be so terrible, but it’s been incredibly hot making being inside almost unbearable at times… Our basement is cool, so at least we can sleep there (but the futon is uncomfortable and the guest room too hot)… We were also very lucky that the storm didn’t cause major damage to the house or yard, but many weren’t so lucky…

I am home with Deck today (daycare is closed) and we’re headed to my mom’s later to hang out and enjoy the AC… Miraculously, my doctor’s office was open this morning (yearly bloodwork) though driving was challenging – many intersections are without working lights… Pepco had said most people would have power by Friday, but I just checked their website and for our area – it could be tomorrow… That would be awesome… Thankfully, our very generous neighbor has been letting us piggyback on their generator so at least our food is okay… Eric said he is buying one as soon as he can (rather, as soon as they’re back in stock)… Fun times…
