As you  may have noticed, I redesigned the blog since it was a new year (and it’s good to shake things up once in a while)… I still need to add a few things, but for the most part – I’m pretty satisfied… I like the challenge of installing a new theme and then tearing it apart so I can customize it…

What’s new and exciting? My family had it’s belated Christmas gathering this past Sunday – Deck was the star of the show (duh) and was itching to open ALL the presents instead of just the ones Santa brought… He could’ve cared less about the videos, books, or clothes, and enjoyed his new bulldozer from Uncle Craig… I don’t think I overdid it in the food dept, though I commented that there was nothing green on the table (besides my mom’s cornflake wreath)… Fun was had by all and I’ll post a pic as soon as I get one from my niece, since she had the better camera…

I also started back on WW last week and was happy to see a loss on the scale yesterday… I exercised 6/7 days and have been making better choices in the food dept, though I need to stop snacking in the evenings… I will start back with weight-training today and am not looking forward to being sore… According to DietBet, I have 5.1 more pounds to lose by January 30…

Eric’s parents stayed with us on Tuesday night since they were flying out of BWI (very) early Wednesday morning… Not sure why they picked an 8:30 a.m. flight because that meant they had to be up by 4:30 and out the door by 5:30! Gah! During their short visit, we had a nice dinner and at least they were able to spend some time with Deck before heading to bed… Once Deck heard that they were taking a plane to Florida, that’s all he’s been saying around the house… “Grandpa take plane to Florida?” I think he’s really going to enjoy the auto train this year…

Happy Thursday…

Me and my baby boy…

Eric and I are enjoying our last day of vacation, sans the kid – 11 days with Deck was wonderful, but I was happy to drop him off this morning at daycare… Getting back into a routine was much needed so I expect him to be pretty pooped when we pick him up later… What did I do on my last day-off? I did 45-minutes on the treadmill, took a shower, and then went to Michaels and Kohls… I know, not that exciting, but I had some things to return and I’m trying to finish up some necklaces for Christmas… Our family holiday dinner was postponed from last weekend to this weekend because of the weather, and I thought I would try to make everyone glass pendant necklaces… We’ll see how they turn out and will take pics if they look decent…

The holidays overall were good, although I went through something pretty personal that I cannot talk about here… Because of this, I didn’t get to do as much as I’d wanted (like paint our bedroom), but we did manage to squeeze-in a visit to the DC Aquarium on New Year’s Eve… Eric and I decided to stay-in this year and I really thought I’d be in bed before midnight, but low and behold – we both managed to see the ball drop… It was strange/sad to not see Dick Clark on tv this year, but I think Seacrest will do okay in the longrun…

In other news – I joined Roni’s New Year’s DietBet… Today is the last day to join and it only cost $20 (more details here)… The bet is that if you lose 4% of your body weight by the end of the month, you split the pot with all the other winners… I have avoided the scale since before Thanksgiving and this was just the incentive I needed to get back on track! I will restart WW tomorrow and with any luck (and lots of hard work), I’ll be 4% lighter by January 31…

Happy Hump Day..

Christmas is less than 2 weeks away and I don’t feel ready… The house is decorated (I only did half as much compared to last year) and I think we’re done for shopping for Deck… I’m sure I will end up finding more things, like for his stocking, but overall – he can be checked off the list… I have a few things for Eric and told him I can’t think of anything I need besides a new computer – so that’s what I’m getting, and he’ll put some $ towards that (Mac Pro, thank you very much)… Everything else that I can think of, I’ve already bought myself because that’s just how I am…

Today is our holiday party at work – festivities begin at Noon and then things will carry-over into happy hour later this afternoon… When I first started here, our luncheons used to be at the Willard Hotel and were pretty fancy with a sit-down meal, wine, and lots of door prizes… Since then, they’ve cut back and we now have something that’s catered in-house – the food isn’t great, but at least there will be boxed wine and a few prizes (I think)… Happy Holidays indeed~

Weekend plans are pretty open right now – I may drag Deck out with me tomorrow and head to Homegoods and TJMaxx, and then we may attempt to go see Santa at the Trolley Museum on Sunday…

Hope you have a great weekend…

Happy Friday…

Ready to go…

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree…
